CNAG Delegation Visits IIAS Headquarters

A delegation from the China National Academy of Governance (CNAG), an esteemed member of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA/IIAS), visited the IIAS headquarters in Brussels on September 23, 2024. Led by Mr. LI Yi, Vice President of CNAG, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Director General Sofiane Sahraoui and the IIAS Secretariat.

During the visit, Dr. Sahraoui presented an overview of IIAS, highlighting the organization’s progress and exploring potential avenues for enhanced collaboration with CNAG. The meeting also featured an introduction by Peter Vandenbruaene, a representative from BOSA (Federal Public Service for HRM), the Belgian State member representative in IIAS, who detailed their capacity development activities. 

Mr. LI Yi delivered a presentation on the enduring collaboration between IASIA/IIAS, CNAG and China in general, emphasizing the strong ties between CNAG and the international community. The meeting concluded with the exchange of gifts, symbolizing mutual respect and a commitment to collaboration. A small reception followed, along with a guided tour of the new IIAS premises.

In addition, Mr. Peter Vandenbruaene, General Advisor, Directorate General of Recruitment and Development, and Ms. Mélanie Recour, Learning Solutions Project Leader and International. Relations Coordinator, both representatives from BOSA, engaged in discussions with the IIAS Secretariat on strategies to enhance the collaborative efforts between the institutions.

These visits underscore the ongoing commitment of IIAS to foster international relationships and enhance knowledge-sharing in public administration across borders.

It is with the greatest sorrow that we heard the passing away of our dear colleague and friend Dr. Fabienne Maron on December 30th, 2024.  This sad event came as a shock to all of us as we were away on the end of year break. Our greatest regret is that we were not around when she said good bye.
